All Creatures Great and Small

Assorted shots
Setting the scene
It's always satisfying when you come across wildlife that close that it's impossible not to get a gorgeous shot of it.
The Shoot
All of these photos were from individual shoots over the years, with nothing in common, bar happening to have my camera handy when the unusual happened. Some of these shots are of wild animals, others are of animals in captivity. Regardless, they made for great subjects.
All being separate shoots, each has its own story in terms of gear and settings.

The echidna was at the Cape Liptrap Lighthouse in December 2018. It was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II, using a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 prime lens.

The kookaburra was shot at Healesville Sanctuary in September 2023, on a Canon M6 Mark ii using a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 with the broken autofocus.

The meerkat was shot at the Mansfield Zoo in August 2024, on a Canon R5C, with a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8.

The fox was shot at Mount Macedon in June 2020, on a Canon M5 with Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 on a Viltrox Speed Booster.
