Blink 182 - Rod Laver Arena 2024

"What's my age again?"
Setting the scene:
I started listening to Blink 182 in 2017, well after Tom had left. So when I heard in 2022 that Tom was back, and they'd be touring, seeing them live became the goal. So naturally, I brought a camera...
The Shoot:
Was I allowed to bring my camera in? According to the vague policies online, yes. Were security going to know what they were looking at when they checked my bag, and whether or not it specifically was allowed in? Probably not. Would it be easier to smuggle the camera in and avoid the hassle? Unfortunately, yes...

My Canon M6 Mark ii when paired with a kit lens looked small and inconspicuous enough that security didn't see the false bottom of the camera bag, and the 70-200mm lens hidden underneath it...
Technical Stuff
When I was in the market to get a decent mirrorless camera, I settled on the M6 Mark ii, largely due to it's high resolution sensor. At 32MP, and being APS-C, it didn't matter if my zoom wasn't quite long enough. Just punch in the crop to frame it right, and you've got the shot.

The biggest challenge was the lens itself. It was a damaged 70-200mm I got given for free by a mate who had bought it intending to fix it, but never got around to before switching systems. The autofocus didn't work, so it was shooting manual the entire time. But a broken clock is right twice a day, and with over a thousand photos taken at that single show, I managed to get plenty of shots to be happy with.
